What's New

New security and login enhancements

Over the next few months, you'll see some changes to Manheim.com and our applications. We realize you may have some questions about these changes and why we are doing them. Here are some of the most common questions we have been asked:

What has changed?
In a nutshell, we recently made AuctionACCESS the default source for customer data in order to better protect our users and ensure the continued integrity of our marketplace. In addition to this move, we also rolled out technology enhancements that now provide customers who buy and sell for multiple dealership locations with a simplified online buying and selling experience, allowing them to view information and transact business for all the locations they serve under one user name and password.

What is AuctionACCESS?
Most people associate AuctionACCESS with the card that gets them into sales at Manheim operating locations. AuctionACCESS is actually a product of a company called AutoTec. AuctionACCESS provides a service to Manheim by verifying and maintaining current information on licensed dealers. A licensed dealer in good standing with AuctionACCESS gains admittance to all Manheim locations as well as the ability to securely buy or sell from any of these locations in-lane or online.

My AuctionACCESS information is out of date. How do I update it?
You can update your information in person at any dealer registration desk in a Manheim operating location. Or, choose to update online by using AutoTec's myACCESS tool to quickly and easily update information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Why is Manheim.com using AuctionACCESS in this way?
Making AuctionACCESS the default source of Manheim.com customer information helps us protect your interests by ensuring that you are not bidding against, or selling to non-qualified buyers. Further, it provides one main source for Manheim customer information so that users can securely buy or sell from any location in-lane or online.

How will Manheim.com's move to AuctionACCESS and the recent technology enhancements benefit me?

  • Protects you by ensuring the integrity of Manheim.com marketplace: AuctionACCESS helps verify and maintain current information on licensed dealers to qualify the site's buyers and sellers.
  • Provides for easy update of info: Now, when you make a change to your information with AuctionACCESS, that information is sent to all locations where you do business, and to Manheim.com.
  • In the future, these technology enhancements will allow us to personalize your customer experience and make shopping easier.
  • Negates the need to remember multiple sets of user names and passwords.
  • Gives you ability to view all saved searches, plus buying and selling activity for all the dealerships that you buy and sell for all under one username and password.

We've always shared login information at my dealership. Now, no one can get on the site. What do we do now?
We have changed the way we assign usernames so that they are "owned" by individuals and not dealerships. We had to make this change in order to pave the way for future personalization of our customers' experience on the site. We are happy to set up usernames for employees at your dealership. All you'll need is their 100 million numbers (this is found on their AuctionACCESS card) and the last 4-digits of their government ID (the one they used when they registered with AuctionACCESS).

Why do the features, "My Manheim" and "Workbook" look different?
We recently rolled out technology changes to Manheim.com to enhance security and provide customers who buy and sell for multiple dealership locations a way to view information and transact business for all the locations they serve under one user name and password. The changes to My Manheim and Workbook reflect this.

How do I view saved searches for the different dealerships for which I buy?
Your saved searches are now merged into one list for easier access. Your workbook comments have also been merged.

Site maps are handy tools that show the content of an entire Internet site at a glance. Think of it as a hyperlinked "site outline." Don't know where something is? Consult the site map. Not only are site maps great for helping users who are unfamiliar with a site's layout, they also are great educational tools for experienced users looking to learn more about a company's products or services.
